Conocer el numero de links entrantes en Google

Vía canguroRico  nos enteramos que después de mucho tiempo google se ha decidido a dar a conocer a los webmasters cuantas páginas linkean hacia sus sitios Hasta ahora, esto se podía hacer de forma parcial mediante el comando link:sitio.web , este comando no daba ni mucho menos el conteo exacto de links entrantes sino un subconjunto. La unica forma que teníamos para saber el número de links era utilizar otros buscadores como Yahoo. Ahora mediante el blog oficial de google acaba de anunciar la herramienta que lo hace posible: At Webmaster Central, we are all about communicating with webmasters about their sites in the Google index. We want to provide as much information as we can to help webmasters understand how their sites perform and how to improve their results. And we want to get input from the site owners, who after know their sites best. We spend a lot of time talking with, and getting feedback from, webmasters. One request we hear a lot is to show which pages link to a site. You could always get a sub-sampled list of backlinks by using the link: operator, but now, as the owner of a site, you can get a much larger list in the Webmaster Tools component of Webmaster Central.Head on over to this post on our Webmaster Central blog for all the details, and then log into Webmaster tools to see what sites link to you. We hope this gives you greater insight about your visitor traffic as well as how your site is linked throughout the web.

Matt Cutts añade algunas cuestiones:
- La herramienta de backlinks no muestra el 100% de los backlinks que tiene Google (que controla de cada site), pero espero que el número de enlaces que están disponibles crezca.
- No asumir que solamente porque veas el backlink listado, éste esté dando algún peso a tu web. (algunas personas han visto nofollows listados)En Search Engine Land, algún apunte más:
- Los enlaces a páginas contenidas en el index suplementario de Google no se mostrarán.
- Los enlaces desde subdominios del mismo dominio no son considerados enlaces externos (backlinks). Por ejemplo si tienes un weblog alojado en blogspot o wordpress, los enlaces desde estos mismos subdominios no aparecerán como backlinks.
